Mitch The has HID but only serato mapping atm -not sure what the is like but the pitch fader on the has less friction you could say -you can use wide pitch adjust mode in All modes on the The only allows you to do it in cd and midi I guess mode Even with all that though I have 3 s and are extremely happy with them.

But i found the jog alot lighter than the Posted December 6, There is a dot below the waveform and the current vertical bar of the waveform blinks to show the current position, but the waveform lines up above the playback position indicator in the lower display for a quick approximation. You'd have to show even less information on the display larger items for the touch to be accurate, especially after the DJ has had a few drinks. The rotary knob and the strip make it easy to locate tracks.
CD-audio breaks every second down into 75 frames. This can cause for imperfect loops when the peaks and valleys of the waveform don't line up or the loop is simply too long or too short for a perfect number of frames for that tempo. Pioneer has developed a method of interpolation to allow for half-frame timing.
This effectively breaks every second into pieces allowing for smoother and more precice loops to be created. The half frames are shown in the display as. The player automatically creates a history list of all the songs you play and allows you to import that playlist into rekordbox. You can then review the track list from that session or you can edit the playlist and re-order tracks to play them again in the future. The rotary selector has an acceleration mode function.
When turned slowly, one track is displayed at a time. When turned quickly, tracks are skipped while scrolling. The number of tracks skipped depends on the speed at which the rotating section is turned. When the rotary selector is pressed for several seconds, the jump mode is set, allowing several thousands of files to be browsed quickly. There is a function for sorting tracks by category. Tracks can also be sorted by searching for keywords.

The top-loading, flat-top design was well-suited to DJs transitioning from the world of vinyl. It was designed for immediate playback without latency for accurate cueing , and was the first Pioneer CD player to feature a jog dial.
Pioneer truly lived up to their name by conceptualizing this piece of history. Pioneer had learned a few things since introducing the CDJ in … such as the fact that space was often limited in DJ booths!
Pioneer also made improvements to reliability, and introduced the oil-damped shock absorption system which is still in use by modern CDJs. The S introduced three on-board sound effects Jet, Zip, and Wah. Outside of this, the S was a very basic and cheap model intended for home use notice the lack of loop controls, for example.
A display was introduced in the middle of the jog wheel which relayed positioning information… a handy tool for accurate cueing. Just after the turn of the millennium, the idea of downloading music and burning your own CDs was becoming a known, feasible idea. Not only that, but they could manipulate the tracks in the same way that they could with a real turntable. You could also now use the digital output for actual DJing in the original, you could only use that for normal CD playback and not for manipulating the track.
Other improvements included a bigger, brighter, dots waveform display instead of the earlier 50 dots waveform , and the ability to record loops into Hot Cue slots instead of just cue points. Jog wheel resistance was made adjustable to suit different styles of handling. Also, the unit was changed to handle SD card media for storing cues and loops as opposed to the earlier MMC format..
Though it was laid out in a similar manner to the and operated much the same way, the form factor was slightly different and it came in a silver finish. This player allowed DJs to experience a fairly standard club setup, at a much more reasonable price point. Released at the same time as the MK3 version of the CDJ, this model was a small update to bring things in line with the times. Most notably, mp3 playback was now possible on the CDJ This model contained an improved jog wheel carried from the CDJ MK2 , slightly improved displays , support for CD text, a slightly bigger buffer, and of course mp3 playback.
This also differed from the original in that, when cueing a record back and forth, you have to hit the play button to continue playback and not go back to the cue point.
