Can you chat on pottermore
I cannot wait until they release the next book. It gives me something to look forward to, which is awesome, since now that the books are done, and the movies, I hadn't had anything left to enjoy!
I also visited Harry Potter Land in Universal. I joined Pottermore a few weeks ago and I do have a lot of fun with it. My friend and I have been on different boards throughout the internet and unfortunaltely a lot of the time it's people complaining about what house they got in or whatnot, when really they should be glad about it because it's more of the real deal than some of the random "What house are YOU in?!?!
I was really curious as to what house I would be in because I'm indifferent about the subject, and I was sorted into Hufflepuff. When I think about it, it really does suit me and I can't wait for the other books to be made available on the site. I saw this on my tumblr which made me giggle too:. I have recently join Pottermore and i think it's a lovely site. A nd yay! I joined pottermore, but after a while it got kind of boring I was a beta tester for Pottermore in Ravenclaw.
I'm honestly pretty disappointed with it. I rarely go on. I'll probably go on again if they release more stuff. It just seems really limited to me. You can post now and register later. I feel it's more directed towards children. I gave it a shot. Got my wand and house. But have not returned. Posted April 26, I Love My Cats! Saxen Posted April 26, Posted April 28, Posted April 30, Posted May 4, AngelBones Posted May 4, Cassia Posted May 5, Posted May 5, Posted May 6, When you say submitted your email the first day…you're not talking about the Magic Quill thing, are you? Did you have to be invited for that or did you just stumble upon it when you checked back?
Because I thought I would be e-mailed about an opening and didn't keep checking--that may be why I missed out on the earlies. And thanks. No, I never got the Magic Quill. Still waiting on my letter, but I'm 'GlowRiver' when I do manage to get on there. Well, I'm sorted, and Okay, so I wanted Ravenclaw more, but I always felt that I'm like Hermione; she's really, really smart, but she's also brave when she needs to be. Got mine! I'm a Gryffindor Especially the info about wand woods and wand cores and stuff.
Next for me would be the background info about Professor McGonagall. I kinda teared up at that one part I don't want to say in case people would get mad about spoilers.
With the videos? Same here. I was talking about McGonagall's stuff. She had it kinda hard. I'm charmnight13, but haven't gotten the email about access yet. Pottermore just opened to everyone! And just think I had almost forgotten about it! So excited! I've waited for two hours now, going to sleep and try again tomorrow, some people have been waiting for 13 hours according to their tweets. My daughter is very excited to hear this I know she was in for the Beta version, but she said she'd done everything there was to do.
I'm spending my free time on this. I feel like everyone else's names are cooler than mine! Just glad to finally be on. Not sure if this is normal, but I still haven't received my second email, but I logged in and started "playing" fyi! I'm SeerBronze and I'm apparently a Gryffindor.. I disagree with that, but oh well. Thank goodness for GC because that was the only way I knew that Pottermore finally went live for the rest of us! My name is WildGoblet, and I've been sorted into Hufflepuff.
Too cool! All I want now that it is open is for other books to be available. You, me, and everyone else who got to do the Beta period. I'm in! My username is PotionKnight and I'm a Slytherin! This was a total surprise to me, I expected Ravenclaw, but after reading the house description I couldn't be more excited! Just wondering, can people from other houses post their house descriptions? Since we only get to see our own? I'll post Slytherin's. Also my wand is laurel with phoenix feather core, 10 inches, unyielding.
After learning more about wandlore, I can see that. Ah I'm such a dork but I'm loving this experience so far! Our emblem is the badger, an animal that is often underestimated, because it lives quietly until attacked, but which, when provoked, can fight off animals much larger than itself, including wolves. Our house colours are yellow and black, and our common room lies one floor below the ground, on the same corridor as the kitchens.
Now, there are a few things you should know about Hufflepuff house. Want proof? Look up Grogan Stump, one of the most popular Ministers for Magic of all time. Hufflepuffs all. Ravenclaws, in particular, assume that any outstanding achiever must have come from their house.
I got into big trouble during my third year for duelling a Ravenclaw prefect who insisted that Bridget Wenlock had come from his house, not mine.
I should have got a week of detentions, but Professor Sprout let me off with a warning and a box of coconut ice. Hufflepuffs are trustworthy and loyal. Nobody intimidates us. What else do you need to know? Oh yes, the entrance to the common room is concealed in a stack of large barrels in a nook on the right hand side of the kitchen corridor. We are the only house at Hogwarts that also has a repelling device for would-be intruders.
If the wrong lid is tapped, or if the rhythm of the tapping is wrong, the illegal entrant is doused in vinegar. You will hear other houses boast of their security arrangements, but it so happens that in more than a thousand years, the Hufflepuff common room and dormitories have never been seen by outsiders. It is round and earthy and low-ceilinged; it always feels sunny, and its circular windows have a view of rippling grass and dandelions.
There is a lot of burnished copper about the place, and many plants, which either hang from the ceiling or sit on the windowsills. Our overstuffed sofas and chairs are upholstered in yellow and black, and our dormitories are reached through round doors in the walls of the common room.
Copper lamps cast a warm light over our four-posters, all of which are covered in patchwork quilts, and copper bed warmers hang on the walls, should you have cold feet.
Our house ghost is the friendliest of them all: the Fat Friar. I must say, I hope some of you are good Quidditch players. You should sleep comfortably. And once again: congratulations on becoming a member of the friendliest, most decent and most tenacious house of them all. That's so cool! I'm a Gryffindor and all we get is this: Congratulations! Our emblem is the lion, the bravest of all creatures; our house colours are scarlet and gold, and our common room lies up in Gryffindor Tower.
This is, quite simply, the best house at Hogwarts. Yes, Dumbledore himself, the greatest wizard of our time, was a Gryffindor! Enjoy your time at Hogwarts — but how could you fail to? I was glad to finally learn some more about Hufflepuffs. I guess she didn't put much about Griffyndor since the books are all about them. I'm a Gryffindor and all we get is this Jo said in an interview I think that she really wanted to let the non-Gryffindors know more about their houses history in Pottermore because the books do such a good job of detailing Gryffindors.
Which is kind of true, as they're all told from Harry's POV. Slytherin's is: Congratulations! Our emblem is the serpent, the wisest of creatures; our house colours are emerald green and silver, and our common room lies behind a concealed entrance down in the dungeons.
We like to feel that our hangout has the aura of a mysterious, underwater shipwreck. Yes, Merlin himself, the most famous wizard in history! He learned all he knew in this very house! Do you want to follow in the footsteps of Merlin? Or would you rather sit at the old desk of that illustrious ex-Hufflepuff, Eglantine Puffett, inventor of the Self-Soaping Dishcloth?
We play to win, because we care about the honour and traditions of Slytherin. We also get respect from our fellow students. Yes, some of that respect might be tinged with fear, because of our Dark reputation, but you know what? It can be fun, having a reputation for walking on the wild side. Apart from being the biggest bunch of swots you ever met, Ravenclaws are famous for clambering over each other to get good marks, whereas we Slytherins are brothers.
Because you know what Salazar Slytherin looked for in his chosen students? The seeds of greatness. All right, you might see a couple of people hanging around the common room whom you might not think are destined for anything special. Well, keep that to yourself. Now, a lot of people say that Slytherins and Gryffindors represent two sides of the same coin. Personally, I think Gryffindors are nothing more than wannabe Slytherins.
Mind you, some people say that Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor prized the same kinds of students, so perhaps we are more similar than we like to think. They like beating us only slightly less than we like beating them. A few more things you might need to know: our house ghost is the Bloody Baron. The password to the common room changes every fortnight. Keep an eye on the noticeboard. Never bring anyone from another house into our common room or tell them our password.
No outsider has entered it for more than seven centuries. We sleep in ancient four-posters with green silk hangings, and bedspreads embroidered with silver thread. Medieval tapestries depicting the adventures of famous Slytherins cover the walls, and silver lanterns hang from the ceilings. Ravenclaw Welcome Message: Congratulations!
Our emblem is the eagle, which soars where others cannot climb; our house colours are blue and bronze, and our common room is found at the top of Ravenclaw Tower, behind a door with an enchanted knocker. The arched windows set into the walls of our circular common room look down at the school grounds: the lake, the Forbidden Forest, the Quidditch pitch and the Herbology gardens. No other house in the school has such stunning views. Without wishing to boast, this is the house where the cleverest witches and wizards live.
Our founder, Rowena Ravenclaw, prized learning above all else — and so do we. The door to our common room lies at the top of a tall, winding staircase. It has no handle, but an enchanted bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle.
When you rap on the door, this knocker will ask you a question, and if you can answer it correctly, you are allowed in. This simple barrier has kept out everyone but Ravenclaws for nearly a thousand years. Another cool thing about Ravenclaw is that our people are the most individual — some might even call them eccentrics.
Ravenclaw house has an illustrious history. Most of the greatest wizarding inventors and innovators were in our house, including Perpetua Fancourt, the inventor of the lunascope, Laverne de Montmorency, a great pioneer of love potions, and Ignatia Wildsmith, the inventor of Floo powder. There was also Minister Lorcan McLaird, who was a quite brilliant wizard, but preferred to communicate by puffing smoke out of the end of his wand.
Well, I did say we produce eccentrics. In fact, we are also the house that gave the wizarding world Uric the Oddball, who used a jellyfish for a hat. The Gryffindors are OK. Oh yes, our house ghost is the Grey Lady. Our dormitories are in turrets off the main tower; our four-poster beds are covered in sky blue silk eiderdowns and the sound of the wind whistling around the windows is very relaxing. And once again: well done on becoming a member of the cleverest, quirkiest and most interesting house at Hogwarts.
I'm a Hufflepuff too! I finished the 1st book today, practiced dueling and making potions. I might be hooked! Anyone else having issues with some of the potions? Is there a way to better handle some of the bottles so stuff doens't all come gushing out? When I pick up bottles, the stuff inside shakes out really easily And the directions on dueling are not very accurate at all. Were these things addressed during the Beta testing?
And dangit, the hourglass during potions wears down too fast!!!! Sycamore and Phoenix feather, 10 inches. Surprisingly swishy. My ideal wand is holly and unicorn tail hair but I'll take this one. But the description doesn't fit me at all. I have a Ravenclaw brain with a Gryffindor heart. Everyone knows that. AOIIAngel, you're kicking my butt in duels!
I can't do them for shit on my laptop. Will have to wait til I can use a mouse to duel, or bust out the mouse for my laptop instead of using the touch pad.
Can someone tell me how you progress to the next book? I finished the first one, and want to move on, but it doesn't tell me how. I'm using my laptop, too, but I figured it out. Sometimes my touchpad will screw me up, but it works pretty well. Potions are not my friend, though. How do I wave my wand when brewing a cure for boils?
I don't see it on the table. It's gone missing. ETA: Never mind, I found it! Just won house points in duels Funny story, he bought me a Hufflepuff shirt last year at the HP theme park as a joke, and I refused to wear it.
He has been crowing about me being sorted into Hufflepuff. Also, I just happened to be wearing a gold and black Honey Badger shirt yesterday. I think not. I just started. My username is PurpleSand I was sorted into Slytherin. I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed :. My username is ErisedFlight, and I am also a proud hufflepuff!!! I also think my wand is pretty spiffy too I made over points for hufflepuff yesterday dueling I may be a bit obsessed.
I knew I was a Sigma when I posted on fb about my wand and my sisters 1. Guess we just love our 'S'. I really should stop. I have pottermore up no matter what else I am doing It's after midnight and I just remembered a phone call I meant to make I'm loving Pottermore so far, Ravenclaw seems like a good fit for me, although I'm not feeling very clever, I'm finding potions and duelling a little difficult, but i think its just my touchpad on my laptop.
I'll be on a roll, then my finger catches on my touch pad. I just recieved my activation. I'm mistcrimson
